How We Calculate Your Reading

Your reading isn’t generic, and it isn’t random. It’s computed from a unique signature built from your date, time, and place of birth. Here’s a high-level look at how that signature becomes a personalized map of your parts — without diving into the proprietary details of the engine itself.

1. Your Birth Signature Is Geometry

We start by computing the precise positions of the planets relative to the zodiac and to the location of your birth at the exact moment you were born. This produces a set of coordinates — each planet has a position (in degrees) along the ecliptic, and falls within one of twelve houses determined by your birth time and location.

From those coordinates, we calculate the angular relationships between every pair of points — what astrology calls aspects. A 90° angle, a 120° angle, a 180° angle: each relationship represents a different kind of tension or harmony between the two points involved. This is pure geometry — angles on a circle — long before any psychological meaning is attached.

2. Each Geometric Relationship Maps to a Psychological Theme

Every point in your signature (a planet, a house cusp, an angle) and every relationship between two points carries an established symbolic meaning — drawn from centuries of consistent interpretive tradition. Our ontology layer encodes those meanings as structured data: what a given placement tends to represent in terms of control, vulnerability, intensity, withdrawal, ambition, longing, and so on.

This is the translation step — geometry on one side, psychological vocabulary grounded in IFS-informed categories (manager, firefighter, exile) on the other.

3. Scoring: Which Themes Are Strongest in You

Not every placement carries equal weight. Our scoring system weighs each geometric relationship by factors like the tightness of the angle, the points involved, and how many independent signals point toward the same underlying theme. The result is a ranked list of psychological themes — some barely present, others showing up again and again across multiple independent signals in your chart.

4. Clustering: From Themes to Named Parts

A single theme rarely tells a complete story on its own. Our clustering step groups related, mutually reinforcing themes together — for example, a cluster built around control, vigilance, and fear of exposure becomes the seed of a manager-type part. A cluster built around intensity, withdrawal, and emotional overwhelm becomes the seed of a firefighter-type part.

The strongest clusters in your configuration are the ones that surface as the named parts in your reading — each with its own role, fear, protective strategy, and the gift hidden underneath it.

5. Language: From Data to a Reading You Can Actually Use

The final step turns the structured clusters into the written reading itself — translating scored, geometric data into plain, emotionally resonant language about what each part is doing for you, what activates it, and how to begin working with it rather than against it.
